The magazine’s June edition hits newsstands Friday equipped with 3-D glasses. Now the toy that has kids dodging dragons, meatballs and tall blue aliens at the movies will help adults focus on what is, at first glance, a very blurry Playmate of the Year.

“What would people most like to see in 3-D?” asked Playboy founder Hugh Hefner. “Probably a naked lady.”

Hefner makes no secret of hoping to capitalize on the popularity of 3-D movies such as “Avatar” and “How to Train Your Dragon,” even as he makes no secret of not quite getting what all the fuss is about.

“I’m not a huge enthusiast of 3-D,” he said in a telephone interview. “I leave real life to go to the movies and 2-D is fine with me.”

If the thought of grown men sitting back in their recliners with a pair of 3-D glasses doesn’t quite say “Playboy,” it should be noted that a few months ago the magazine put Marge Simpson — yes, the blue-haired animated mother of Bart — on the cover and in a two-page centerfold.

The owner of the Woodmont golf course has abruptly withdrawn an application to rezone one of two golf courses for housing and commercial development.

The commission meeting scheduled for tonight to discuss the rezoning was canceled just before noon.

Developers wanted to put 255 single-family homes and nearly 61,000 square feet of commercial space on the Pines golf course at Woodmont. The residents launched an expensive protest, organizing to fund a war chest for their legal fees.

Attorneys for Woodmont property owner Mark Schmidt withdrew the application this morning. If Schmidt were to decide to file again, the application process would start all over.

“Please be advised that the financial strain being suffered by Woodmont remains critical and the unfortunate consequence of withdrawing the applications will result in the imminent closure of the Pines course,” attorney Scott Backman said in a letter to the city. “It remains Woodmont’s intent to continue working with the city on an acceptable development plan for the Pines Course.”

Tiger Woods’ public apology is not sincere said his former mistress Joslyn James to a sports talk radio show Thursday morning on April Fool’s Day.

Joslyn James told “The Morning Jones” radio show that Tiger Woods‘ inner circle of business associates and friends were aware of their three-year long affair. She also claimed she left the porn industry at his request.

A former Boynton Beach resident is trying to repeat her success in last year’s U.S. Pole Dance Federation competition.

Sarah Cretul, 22, won the title of Miss Trixter last year. The second annual competition starts Friday at the Symphony Space Theater in New York City.

“I’ve been working on my routine all year,” said Cretul, whose moves include a “twisted handspring.” “I think I’m ready.”

Last year, she won Miss Trixter after she vaulted herself into a “Superman” position, parallel to the floor. She then wrapped her legs around the pole and suspended herself more than 6 feet from the ground upside down, holding on with just her legs.

Weezer, an alternative rock group, will perform during opening night on April 28 along Flagler Drive, from Banyan Boulevard to Lakeview Avenue, in West Palm Beach. New musical acts chosen based on submissions from the public will play alongside Weezer, famous for “ Buddy Holly” and “Say It Ain’t So.”

Also performing during SunFest’s five-day run, April 28 to May 2, are: ZZ Top, Shinedown, Ben Harper and Relentless7, Patti Labelle, The B-52’s, The Charlie Daniels Band, Flaming Lips, Nas, Maze featuring Frankie Beverly, Rise Against, Damian Marley, Five For Fighting, Flogging Molly, Sister Hazel, Better than Ezra, Marcus Miller and Classic Albums Live.

SunFest, which draws about 275,000 music fans, is still negotiating with other national acts. More than 50 musical acts will perform during the festival.

Tickets go on sale April 11 with early-bird discounts ending April 25: one-day tickets, $30; two-day tickets, $46; and a five-day pass, $60. Prices for seniors and children ages 6 to 12 vary.

So the reviled-by-many Kelly Killoren Bensimon, of the Hamptons and the surreal “Housewives of New York City” on Bravo, is the cover model on the current issue of Playboy. But, help me out here, is this photo spread another reason to throw things at her? Or does such a decision — by a 40-year-old mother of two, jewelry designer, author and magazine editor who seems to put in the time to take care of herself — earn her a “go girl”? She’s been throwing around words like “humbling” to describe the photo session. That sounds real. Do we like that? Again, I can’t keep the rules straight, and I am not asking my wife. Hazel Summerall, 50, tried to get her 27-year-old son to stop playing the World of Warcraft video game.

It started a family war.

James Swan, her son, was playing the game in a bedroom in their Manatee County home while drinking. He was also getting increasingly loud. So she asked Swan a couple of times to stop playing.

Swan grabbed his mother by the hair and threw her onto a bed, reports the Sarasota Herald Tribune.

Swan then picked up his son, who was also in the room, and threw him onto the bed.

Summerall tried to call the cops, but Swan ripped the phone from the wall. Next, he
threw his mother onto the living room floor, jumped on her and began choking her.

Enter Swan’s grandfather, who grabbed a handgun.

Yes it’s true. Bo Griffin may R.I.P.  I don’t really remember her too much. I was kind of young when she was on the radio.

Bo Griffin, who parlayed a wildly successful run in South Florida radio and TV into a national profile on broadcast and cable TV, died Tuesday in her native Greenville, S.C. The cause of death was reportedly intestinal cancer. She was 51.

Griffin is best known as co-host of the “Mindy and Bo Morning Show,” which became a sensation on Power 96 in the ’90s. Legendary DJ and broadcast executive Bill Tanner, who put Griffin and Mindy Frumkes together, said he believes it was, if not the first, certainly one of the rare, female-led morning drive radio shows in America.

The popularity of the radio show led to local stints on TV. But Bo, once an aspiring actress, was always thinking bigger. She opted to move to Los Angeles, the nation’s second largest market. “When she left town, it was to do bigger and better things,” Mindy said. “Nothing was going to stand in her way.”

To give you a little background my friend D.Roller asked me for ideas for a new night at the Sea Monster and I suggested he bring back the Squeeze by doing Squeeze Saturdays. Well you know how good things go… one thing leads to another… one party then a few more… and then this huge Kill Miss Pretty show.

If Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz were really Alicia Olink from Boynton Beach electropunk act Kill Miss Pretty, and her house that spun through the air in a twister were really the much-adored but defunct Fort Lauderdale nightclub Squeeze, the whole scene might resemble the nightclub Sea Monster, the former site of Squeeze, this Saturday. Kill Miss Pretty will take the stage at the club to debut its new single, ‘Judy Garland,’ which features Olink whispering, ‘don’t think we’re in Kansas anymore.’

The world is getting smaller and smaller and smaller

A porn star told “Inside Edition” that she twice became pregnant from golfer Tiger Woods.

Joslyn James said in an interview airing tonight that she never told Woods about the pregnancies, which occurred at the same times the golfer's wife, Elin, was pregnant with their two kids.

James, 32, had a miscarriage of the first pregnancy and aborted the second, she told the show.

Déjà Vu, a Tampa gentlemen’s club, has started driving what it calls the “Stripper Mobile” around town — it’s a large truck with Plexiglas sides featuring a stripper pole and dancers inside, sort of like a peep show on wheels, reports Tampa Bay’s 10Connects.com.
