Fort Lauderdale attorney Scott Rothstein turned himself in to the FBI field office in North Miami Beach at about 7: 45 a.m. Tuesday, WFOR-Ch. 4 reports.Rothstein, 47, is accused of running a $1 billion Ponzi scheme from his Fort Lauderdale law firm. He was seen walking into the FBI office in handcuffs.He is expected to appear at 11 a.m. in U.S. District Court in Fort Lauderdale.Prosecutors are preparing to unveil racketeering charges against him later in the day, according to two law enforcement officials speaking on condition of anonymity because of the ongoing investigation, The Associated Press reports.
