The Challenge
LocalKeysGuide.com was a WordPress site buckling under its own weight — 53 business listings, an events calendar, and a map-based search feature that barely worked. Page load times were brutal. The admin experience was worse.
The Build
Migrated the entire platform to Next.js with Sanity CMS for headless content management. Built a custom Mapbox integration for the interactive business map. The events calendar pulls from a shared Google Calendar. Every listing page is SEO-optimized with structured data.
The Result
Page load times dropped from 8+ seconds to under 2. The Mapbox integration made the directory actually usable. Business owners can now update their own listings through a clean Sanity Studio interface. The site is the go-to local directory for the Upper Keys.
