Just Cuz Fishing, Marathon Charter Booking Site
Charter fishing done right. Clean, fast Astro booking site built to convert browsers into booked anglers, with FareHarbor integration and Marathon-focused local SEO.

The Challenge
Just Cuz Fishing needed a web presence that matched the energy of the charter, no-nonsense, get on the boat, catch fish. The site needed to be simple, fast, and focused on one thing: getting people booked. The operator was tired of losing tourists to bigger fleet operators with flashy sites and aggressive ad budgets. The brief was straightforward: don’t out-flash the competition, out-perform them on clarity and speed.
There was also a real-world constraint the typical agency misses: most visitors are on their phone, in a hotel parking lot, deciding between three charters on a bad cellular connection. If the site takes more than a second to show them the boat, the price, and the book-now button, they’re gone.
The Build
Lean Astro build with Tailwind. Stripped to the essentials: trip info, photos, booking. No bloat, no unnecessary pages. Every element exists to move a visitor toward a booked trip.
Single-page architecture with anchored sections (Trips, Boat, Captain, Book) so the entire pitch fits in one scroll and one page load. Zero JavaScript except for the booking form, which lets Astro ship static HTML/CSS by default and keeps first contentful paint under 600ms on 4G. The “Book a Trip” CTA is above the fold on desktop and mobile, one tap from any section. The gallery is three hand-picked hero images, no stock photos and no auto-play slideshow that would tank Core Web Vitals. Local SEO baseline included: Open Graph, Twitter Card, LocalBusiness schema, Google Business Profile linked.
The Result
A clean, fast site that does exactly what it needs to do. Loads in under a second on decent mobile, looks great at any screen size, and makes booking a charter feel effortless. The operator reports an uptick in direct bookings (bypassing aggregator platforms that take a 20%+ cut) and fewer phone calls asking basic questions the site now answers clearly.
